Sony Reveals Plans to End the PS4Sony has revealed that it's planning to close out PlayStation 4. PlayStation 4.

It was released back in 2013, the PS4 has become not just Sony's most popular consoles, but it's also become one of the most popular video game platforms ever. Yet, Sony is now looking to sell the PS5 as the primary hardware, which implies that the PS4 will soon come to its end. Now, thanks to new guidance from Sony it is now possible to get some idea when PS4 might actually go out of the market.

Outlined in Sony's latest financial presentation, it was specified that games on PS4 will be gone in 2025. This doesn't mean that legacy PS4 games will no longer be available to purchase, but Sony has clearly stated that it will stop releasing new games on the platform within the next few years.

Instead, by 2025 Sony has predicted that by 2025, the majority of its revenue generated by games will be in the form of PlayStation 5, with titles on PC and mobile devices also bringing up the other half of its income.

In general, this isn't surprising considering that the PS5 is expected to be Sony's primary area of focus in the months to come. It's worth noting that, at the moment it's the PS4 is a platform Sony is still manufacturing and releasing games for cheap d2r items. In fact, this year's largest PlayStation game, God of War Ragnarok is still scheduled to arrive on PS4 when it is released.
